Story
CHAPTER 1 — THE DAY THEY LEFT
Emotional psychological drama. Ayaan is a quiet seven-year-old boy with soft black hair and large expressive dark-brown eyes.
PANEL 1: Early morning inside his grandmother's modest, warm home. Seven-year-old Ayaan stands silently near the front door in simple clothes, clutching a small toy in both hands. His father is preparing to leave for work in another state, carrying a travel bag. His mother stands nearby trying to smile, but the atmosphere feels painfully heavy. Ayaan doesn't fully understand why his father is leaving. Cinematic composition, emotional facial expressions, soft golden morning light entering through the doorway, detailed Korean webtoon/manhwa artwork.
Narration: “I was seven when I first learned that goodbye could sound like a promise.”
PANEL 2: Close-up from Ayaan's perspective. His father kneels in front of him and gently places one hand on Ayaan's head. Ayaan looks into his father's eyes, confused and afraid but trying not to cry.
Father: “I'll come back soon, okay?”
Ayaan quietly asks: “Tomorrow?”
His father's expression changes because he knows the answer isn't tomorrow.
Narration: “Back then, I didn't understand what ‘soon’ meant.”
